It can be overwhelming for many family direct support staff to balance their personal lives, and at the same time, provide their loved ones with their full attention. Many direct support staff are also not fully-trained or licensed in providing care because they took on the responsibility out of love and commitment to family. This can lead to the family direct support staff developing health problems as a result of stress.
